Announcement: if you're a senior or know one I'm running an early bird special. If you book your senior portraits by the end of January you can get a free session fee!!!
Ashlii, here is a sneak peak!
If you know Jeremy and Ashlii...shhhhhh ; These are their Christmas gifts for their parents. This is my current favorite location...except for all the stinkin' stickers. Boo! I'll keep shooting in this little field in town until someone runs me off, which is what usually happens when I find a spot I LOVE.
I've been crazy busy with family life and photography. I've got LOTS more pictures to post. Hopefully when the Christmas Crunch is over I'll redo my blog with bigger images and post all of my fall session :)

This time I'll start with this little cutie, Mace! If you know Mace SHHHH!!!! :-) His pictures are a surprise Christmas present for his grandparents. I was so excited to use this hat I bought on Etsy.
And, just a side note..I don't now what the heck is going on with Blogger's images. I'm doing the same thing and they are all looking really pixelated. I don't know if they've started sharpening or what is going on but its REALLY bugging me. I'm sensing a blog move in the future if I can't get this figured out.
Next, is Brad and Melody... they are long-time friends of ours and I had the pleasure of taking their FIRST family photos! They are in the process of adopting a beautiful little girl so I'm not posting her pictures yet. Hopefully, when all is final I'll get the okay from them to post some more...
Last Monday I swapped out with Sunshine Peacock and we did each other's family photos. I'm not posting those yet since they will be Christmas gifts but here are few from the evening.
Here is Samuel, who just had his 7th birthday BTW. I'm so blessed to be his mother. It warms my heart to see the way he looks after his little sisters. Oh, the story here with the suspenders...I had planned for him to wear this corduroy drivers hat for a kind of throw back look but, of course, the hat goes missing that day. AND the MINUTE Samuel changed out of his clothes he found the hat under one of the car seats. Oh well...
I plopped Mackenzie down real quick before we went into the restaurant to eat....lovin the light here.
Okay, and a recent one of Brianna I LOVE! I got this Carter's outfit at Kohl's..love that place and had to take her picture after telling her she looked SO cute all day!

Okay, so I've been trying to put little notes in Samuel's lunch box every now and then. I never imagined he might return the gesture. Here are a couple of notes be brought home to me from school...makes my heart go "pitter patter" and reminds me that these 7 years of parenting him have been more than worth it.

Well, as far as family goes I think we're all getting used to our new schedule. Here's Samuel in his classroom the first day of school. He was feeling a little shy but warmed up fast, as I expected. He's had a great experience so far!
Since Brianna's birthday is in July and she's barely five I wasn't sure what to do about her kindergarden. I already had all the homeschool stuff for it so she started school too! We may have to slow it down if we hit some bumps in the road but at least she's learning.
And, here's one of each of the kids. They spontaneously ALL wanted their picture taken the other night after they saw me getting some of Mackenzie. Woo hoo!
Oh, and Mackenzie turned 6 months old Friday and cut her first tooth the next day! She's still TINY.

We have some news in the family department... no, I'm not pregnant...Samuel is going to Christian school next year! I'm very excited mostly because its undoubtedly God's plan for him! At the beginning of the summer I talked with Chance about some of my concerns about homeschooling this next year. I think homeschool is a great thing but I'm just not so sure it would be the best thing for our family this year. I was ready to go public school this year and he was really wanting to continue to homeschool. We began to pray about our decision..that God would make us one on our decision. (Its
just so important in marriage to be united in those big decisions). So, to make a long
story short, we were invited to the open house at the Christian school in town. We were very impressed and felt really good about it except for the tuition part...youth minister's salary...big family. I just kept feeling like God was trying to show me He
would provide. Well, He did! We found out Samuel got a scholarship for the Christian school! Anyway, I'm just so excited to have a clear answer and looking forward to getting involved at the school.
I can't believe its already the middle of July. This summer has been so good. Here are some shots from our trip to a little beach nearby.
Finally, I'm taking pictures again! I've also been working hard during my break to set up a few things like my new site! I'm so excited ...I've been wanting to get this template for a long time. My site is a template from porfoliositez (great templates for photographers). I'm hosting through them as well. The site is pretty much finished. I'm planning to add some photo packages along with the "a la cart" prices and I'll be running some specials that include free session fees. You can check out the new site here www.illustrationsoflife.com.
So, here is sweet little Abigail from my first session since starting back. She's so stinkin' cute!
And, last but not least, my friend Emily gave me the "Lovely Blog Award". You can get lots of scrapbooking ideas if you're a scrapbooker and if you scrapbook like me you can get premade scrapbook through her, too. Her site is found at http://www.faithhopeandart.blogspot.com/. Toodaloo!

Here are a couple of Mackenzie. It looks like I may have another brown eyed girl. I LOVE brown eyes so that's fine with me. I seriously need to get some more girly shots of her but these were just some quick shots I grabbed while I had her in her birthday suit.
This one has some focus issues and wouldn't be a keeper other than I LOVE this big ol' smile she has here. She gives anyone who catches her gaze this sweet grin.

I thought I would go ahead update those of you who are waiting on me to come out of my cave and start taking pictures again. I'm thinking maybe in a couple of months I'll be able to get this sweet baby on some kind of schedule so that I can be a little more productive. I'll make sure to post on my blog when its official. BTW she's doing really well she's just a little unpredictable and not crazy about sleeping in her bed.
A while back I came across this picture of Samuel that I took in the back yard and I just decided I love it. He's got all those big permanent teeth in the front now and man, it makes him look so much older.
Here are the girls givin' each other some love at Samuel's baseball game.
Okay, one of these days Samuel is going to have his own room being the only boy and I'm toying around with the idea of putting up a collage of four square pictures up in his room..all processed like these. I can't decide if I want to do all black and white or a mix of both. (I'll add other shots to the mix). What do you think! Color or black and white?
I thought this shot of Brianna was kind of fun. I'm trying to break out of my little box and try some more creative things with the shots of my kids. Brianna is bouncing on one of those bounce balls here and I have one of Samuel that is halairious I haven't processed yet.
These are some I did just before Mackenzie was born and Brianna came down with the flu the night I took these so that's why the squinty face.

Being a photographer I've really gotten into looking for cool photo jewelry and have been looking for a locket for forever. I think the first time I heard of hand stamped jewelry it was from my friend, Alisha, when she posted this. (Click on Lisa Leonard Designs). She told me they also had lots of hand stamped jewelry on Etsy. So I had this locket custom made byDonnaODesigns. Here it is. Its about the size of a quarter...
Here's another one of my finds on Etsy. This sweet little hat came from Portland Beanie Company. I was really impressed with the quality of this hat. I sent Nili these pictures hoping she could use them and she already has one of them up on her site! This is my little Mackenzie again BTW.
My friend Julie also gave me some CUTE hats from Etsy I know I will be photographing as well. (Julie, maybe you can comment and remind me who you got them from.) She also told me about some others that were too cute and I'll have to hunt down the site and show them to you. I think I posted the picture of my diaper cake and there were tons of cute hair clips that Julie found on Etsy. Anyway, I just thought I would put in a plug for Etsy and all the people there who are working hard to produce some really unique things. It can be hard in America to make a living making things...ya know?

I can't believe I managed to get a picture of all 4 of the kids looking at me!! Anyway, I don't know if this is the best picture in the world but as a mom I just LOVE it! I ordered a hand stamped locket I found on Etsy and had to get a picture of them to put inside the locket. I will have to post a photo and the link when it comes in. Here they are...
I couldn't manage to get the paci away from Mackenzie. She was crying so hard I had to settle for the pacifier. Whew...she cries a lot. Samuel cried a lot and I think she cries as much or more. Oh well...at least I know they don't stay little that long. So, hopefully it will fly by...the crying part.

Well, here she is...Mackenzie Faith. She weighed 8lbs and 5oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. Its a good thing my Dr. induced me early or she might have been 9lbs and 5oz. Since the day we found out our due date Chance has said we were going to have her on his birthday, March 11th and she barely made it. I went in to be induced at 6am and didn't really start having contractions until about 2 in the afternoon. My body reacted pretty slowly to things so by 10pm I was ready for a baby and an epidural. I ended up with an epidural that worked so good I couldn't walk until the next morning. If I didn't have the baby by 12am I would have had to have a C section so there was a little more at risk than missing Chance's birthday. She finally came at 11:39 pm. I hope this doesn't mean she's going t be a procrastinator : ) Here she is....I'm sure there will be more to come.
