Christmas Pictures

I took the kids out to get some pictures for our Christmas card. These were taken in front of an old feed mill. Alexis is wearing a crocheted (had to look that up) hat that her Aunt Kelly made her. The kids all had them on at different points but Alexis was the only one who made the final cut wearing hers. I know I've said it before but it is sooo hard to get a picture of the three of them together. This time I decided instead of bribing them with the candy I would go ahead and give it to them to make them happy...or give them a sugar high or whatever : ) I actually took them out twice that day but the morning was just too cold and no one was happy. Our second go round went much better and they even hammed it up for some men working at the feed mill who were watching. I was really excited to get a good one of Brianna. She's my hardest one to photograph and I got some shots of her with really cute expressions.

Quick Post

I'm going to try and get a quick post in before the kiddos wake up from their nap. The first photo's are from Samuel's 5th birthday. Since his birthday is so close to Halloween we let him have a costume party. Usually he's all about doing crazy things to get attention so you'd think he'd be all over dressing up. In case you can't tell he's supposed to be a pirate. I couldn't talk him into letting me get crazy with his costume so an eye patch was all I could really get out of him that afternoon. On the other hand Miss Brianna who doesn't normally want to have attention drawn to herself (I can relate) wanted to go all the way when it came to being a princess. Its hard to see but she's got glittery makeup and stickers on her face along with some glittery shoes. Alexis was asleep for most of the party so no cute costume for her : ( The kids had a great time. They were surprised by pretty much the REAL Snowwhite, a clown, a cowgirl, an indian, and a boatload of pirates! I made Samuel a dirt cake with gummy worms. Oh yeah, and here's the recipe....someone asked me for it.

Dirt Cake
1 pk of oreos
1 container of cool whip
2 pk of instant pudding (vanilla or chocolate)
1pk of cream cheese
2 1/2 c of milk
3/4 c powdered sugar
6 T butter

Crush oreos and put aside. Mix pudding and milk. Set aside. Mix cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until blended and then add pudding and cool whip. Mix well and then layer with crushed oreos in container you choose. (You can use a flower pot and sick a fake flower in if you want). Refrigerate at least one hour and serve.

And last, I had to get some of the kiddos in the fall leaves. No time for hair and makeup that day. Fall's too short around here. Here is one of each of the kids.
