Christmas Pictures

I took the kids out to get some pictures for our Christmas card. These were taken in front of an old feed mill. Alexis is wearing a crocheted (had to look that up) hat that her Aunt Kelly made her. The kids all had them on at different points but Alexis was the only one who made the final cut wearing hers. I know I've said it before but it is sooo hard to get a picture of the three of them together. This time I decided instead of bribing them with the candy I would go ahead and give it to them to make them happy...or give them a sugar high or whatever : ) I actually took them out twice that day but the morning was just too cold and no one was happy. Our second go round went much better and they even hammed it up for some men working at the feed mill who were watching. I was really excited to get a good one of Brianna. She's my hardest one to photograph and I got some shots of her with really cute expressions.

Quick Post

I'm going to try and get a quick post in before the kiddos wake up from their nap. The first photo's are from Samuel's 5th birthday. Since his birthday is so close to Halloween we let him have a costume party. Usually he's all about doing crazy things to get attention so you'd think he'd be all over dressing up. In case you can't tell he's supposed to be a pirate. I couldn't talk him into letting me get crazy with his costume so an eye patch was all I could really get out of him that afternoon. On the other hand Miss Brianna who doesn't normally want to have attention drawn to herself (I can relate) wanted to go all the way when it came to being a princess. Its hard to see but she's got glittery makeup and stickers on her face along with some glittery shoes. Alexis was asleep for most of the party so no cute costume for her : ( The kids had a great time. They were surprised by pretty much the REAL Snowwhite, a clown, a cowgirl, an indian, and a boatload of pirates! I made Samuel a dirt cake with gummy worms. Oh yeah, and here's the recipe....someone asked me for it.

Dirt Cake
1 pk of oreos
1 container of cool whip
2 pk of instant pudding (vanilla or chocolate)
1pk of cream cheese
2 1/2 c of milk
3/4 c powdered sugar
6 T butter

Crush oreos and put aside. Mix pudding and milk. Set aside. Mix cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until blended and then add pudding and cool whip. Mix well and then layer with crushed oreos in container you choose. (You can use a flower pot and sick a fake flower in if you want). Refrigerate at least one hour and serve.

And last, I had to get some of the kiddos in the fall leaves. No time for hair and makeup that day. Fall's too short around here. Here is one of each of the kids.

Puppy Love

Man, it seems like I haven't blogged in forever. We've been so busy like everyone else in the world. Samuel is about to finish up his last week of soccer. He turned 5 on Tuesday. Its funny how monumental birthdays are to kids. Suddenly, he thinks he can do EVERYTHING! He's been trying to do all kinds of stuff for me like fold up the stroller and put it in the car. He's changing out his own DVD's way up high above the TV. I really don't know how he does that I guess he grew or something : )

Well it seems like we've been planning it forever but I finally got to take our friends' FOUR little girls out for a photoshoot. They are so stinkin cute (as you'll see). The oldest one also happens to be who Samuel says is his best friend. ...which is just fine with us. It is such a blessing for our kids to be friends with these girls. We have so much peace being able to leave them all to play together knowing their parents have the same values and strive to teach them the same godly things we strive to teach our own. Well, I don't think we can leave Samuel and Lily completely unattended : ). I took all four girls out the first time but it got really dark so I took Lily out again (Jasmine's next) for some more and thought it would be cute to get some shots of Lily and Samuel together since they're buddies. When they sat together for a picture I heard Samuel say "really? I always wanted to marry you, too". He had a big grin. Then he said "no means no Lily" which was a joke because that's what her daddy told her to say to keep Samuel from kissing her. This conversations was taking place just before the silly shot of the two of them. Next, we headed to church and they were still talking about getting married. He looked at me with a big grin (he was in the front seat talking to her in the back) and said "ok Lily when i get tirty I'll let you marry me". That was pretty much the end of our adventure. There are a couple shots of Samuel and Alexis at the end since they were with me as well. Next time I'll hopefully have some of Jasmine and Brianna to share.

Squeaky shoes!

I titled today's post squeaky shoes because that's the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this cute little two-year-old. I got to photograph a friend's little girl this weekend. She had the cutest little shoes that would squeak every time she took a step. She was sooooo busy and reminded me of how I chased Samuel at that age. Her mom said she didn't like to have her picture taken but I never would have known. I brought along a lollipop in case she cried. She never seemed scared but I couldn't resist trying to get a lollipop shot...I mean the sucker even matched her shirt! Too fun! So here she is shoes and all....

And last but not least.... I got to do all the pictures for Samuel's soccer team. That was a little scary for me since we're new to the world of soccer but here he is. He looks so big to me in the picture.

Yes, I'm still blogging

The kiddo's have had snotty noses around here. It's way too much work in photoshop to clean a snotty nose so I haven't taken too many pix of my crew. Tonight's post comes from a month or so ago when I was trying to get a colorful shot of Alexis...who is now crawling BTW. You know how it goes. Overnight she's into everything. She's really happy, though. She can explore new things and follow all of us around.

I'm working on a real website so that I can pass out contact cards with a simple portfolio or gallery. I was looking through some old pictures when I came across one I had overlooked.

Long Post....

This is gonna be one booger of a post! I'm trying to go in chronological order since there's so much here. The first couple of shots are from a trip to visit Amy Coffey and her little girl, Maya. I 've known Amy for quite a while but just recently discovered she was into photography. She has such a creative eye and I LOVE , LOVE , LOVE her style. I've been so inspired by the work she does alongside her role as a devoted and loving wife and mother. The kids had a great time and of course, Amy and I had plenty to talk about : ) Here's one of Maya. Isn't she precious!Just one more of Alexis...
This one of Brianna probably doesn't suit most people's taste but I just stumbled upon this pose and was drawn to it.
And, last but not least....more of the newborn photos.

This is big brother giving him a kiss.

I'm not sure if I'm really the tutu kind of girl but I needed to practice with this background for a newborn. I thought maybe the tutu would add a little color. So here's Lex in a tutu again. Her hair is mostly blond but it looks a little red who knows ...maybe she'll be a redhead.

Quick Post

I know these aren't the best but it is soooo hard to get these three to sit still and all look my directions. But I needed to try and get some more of them all together. I had to do a crazy dance and act like an idiot to get them to look my way. They were pretty happy after I figured that out. Alexis was a little too happy. She's not in great focus... she was so excited about my dance she tried to fly away.

I still haven't quite figured out the right way to convert to black and white so maybe it looks ok.

BIG logo my new logo is a little big. All who know me know I'm not a techie so I did my best playing around with some HTML to get the thing on there. Maybe someone who knows more about this blogger stuff than me will help me out. I guess a blog entry with no photo would be a little boring so here's another of Alexis. BTW she says "uh oh" now when something falls and its soooo cute! It sounds more like "uh uh" but we know what she means : )

Here's a new one of Lex (that's what I call her...not really her official nick name). Brianna calls her Little Cheeto. I have no idea why. She just started calling her that and it stuck....we don't even eat Cheetos : 0 I think Alexis is about to crawl. She keeps getting herself onto her tummy and even somehow sat up by herself once in the middle of the night. She has started talking or repeating the sounds she's heard. She says mamma, dada, bubba and hi. She claps her hands and does the little indian thing with her hand and mouth. I guess she's nine months old in a few days.

I've been working on a logo so that I can give out contact cards. I'm hoping that will bring me more picture taking opportunities. I will probably end up going with something TOTALLY different but here's what I have so far....
Well, that's all I have for now. You may see a lot of soccer pictures from me soon. Samuel starts in a week or so. His games will be on Saturdays so I know that will work out better for the grandparents.

I love photographs taken in allies. I love the color, the texture and just all the old stuff... so yesterday I decided we would try out a new location. Just a side note...when we were home getting ready to leave I was fixing Samuel's hair and as I gelled him up he decided it would be a good time to confess that he dropped my toothbrush in the toilet earlier that day. Ooooh, I know smoke was coming out of my ears. I made him take me to the bathroom to show me which toothbrush it was (hoping it was Chance's : ) and nope, it was mine. The one I just used to brush my teeth!!! RRRRRRrrr!! He knew I was mad. Then he said "mommy, do you forgive me." Man, I really didn't want to yet but how can you not :( Bittersweet. So, we went on our way to our "photoshoot". I bribe them with candy and stuff when I do this, BTW. This time it was Sonic. For some reason there were a lot of mosquitos so we had to be quick. I think my favorite from the day is the last one of Samuel. Next time I'll try and get a bunch of Alexis. I just didn't figure it would be a good idea to plop her down in mosquito ally.

Party Pix

I know its been a while but here are a few pictures of Brianna at her party. She had so much fun I think she smiled the whole day! Speaking of her birthday...a few days before her birthday I was trying to coach her on the way to church. She got in with all her accessories, of course. She had her sunglasses on, her toy phone and a pink purse loaded with other junk. I was giving her a really serious talk about how she needed to tell people thank you if she got gifts. In the middle of trying to make my threats her toy phone randomly rang and she politely said "hold on, I have a call." Gotta love her.

I'm throwing in a few of Samuel and Alexis for fun. I'm trying to work on black and white conversion and getting better catchlights. I haven't figured out exactly how to sharpen for the web so the images may look a little soft.
